Dead by Dawn Dead & Breakfast
Our haunt-themed home in historic downtown Manitowoc is a must-stay for any Halloween
enthusiast. The themed bedrooms include a nightmare, pirate, and coulrophobia (clown) room in
the east wing, with a fully licensed bar and oddity gift shop on the premises. The manor has been
compared to a museum displaying a vast array of macabre items, and is often a destination for
paranormal investigations. Join us in a unique setting where we celebrate All Hallow's
Eve...every day of the year!
The Space
This historic building was built in the mid-1800s and has been home to numerous businesses,
including a hardware store, a dental office, and a furniture store, which also made coffins.
The main parlor is spacious, and the decor we call creepy chic. Next to the main parlor is The
Shrunken Head Outpost Bar. This critically acclaimed trading post-themed bar is a favored
watering hole for locals and weary travelers alike. After traveling all day, start your evening with
one of our exclusive drinks, such as The Poison Apple or Wisconsin Cherry Popper. Join us there
in the morning for a continental breakfast included in your stay.
On the first floor, The Mad Hatter Curious Goods gift shop contains horror collectibles, wands, body jewelry, incense, and various Halloween-themed pieces created by local artists. This unique store is a regional destination for oddity seekers and lovers of the dark.
We also have a large 2-bedroom private vacation rental in the basement, which can be seen at

The top floor contains our full service bar and the main parlor where guests can enjoy one of our
specialty drinks, play pool on our leopard table, enjoy a board game, or watch a movie on our big
screen TV. Reservations are required for the bar and it is open to the public on Friday and
Saturdays from 5pm-10pm. The 3 guest rooms and separate bathroom is located on the east wing
of the second floor, and the gift shop is on the main floor. There are many steps in the building
and unfortunately we are not handicap accessible.

Other Things to Note
Our building is know for it's paranormal activity. We invite you to investigate if you have your
own equipment, and if not, our paranormal team can accommodate a group for a fee with a
reservation. We also offer an interactive theatrical night for a fee, where our creatures lurk
throughout the night which insures an unrestful night sleep. Our Dead & Breakfast has had the
pleasure of hosting numerous celebrities including Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster), Ross
Marquand (Aaron of the Walking Dead), Miko Hughes(Gage of Pet Sematary), Douglas
Tait(Halloween Kills), and Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell.
